!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Might just go for a short drive. Almost bedtime, back to the grind in the morning. Hope to get out of the current job soon. Just want to be a little closer to home and not stressed to hell all day long.

Not a question of funds currently, it’s really just taking an adult step towards my well being and cutting off a company that wont adhere to their own contract.

I obviously will not up and leave my current job until I get a suitable replacement, but when I do leave, I’m going to make it very clear. A company that’s in the red has no business pushing it’s employees as hard as they do. My limited responsibilities make it easy for me to walk away from this without losing anything (though most of my coworkers will be inconvenienced by it, many are in the same shituation).

I intend on having the wheels refinished and touched up to get rid of the curb rash and the 19 years of accumulated brake dust. I was going to do it this spring, but just due to scheduling not working out very well, it may be pushed back for a while. I still need to get my other set of wheels done, and I haven’t even gotten confirmation to send them out yet. I can only have one car on stands at a time....

Ah, Saturday I’ll be at the auto show for most of the day, then I’ll be hitting the hay early because there’s Cars & Coffee Sunday Morning in Ramsey at Prestige BMW, bright and early 8:30am.

Haha, I take long walks on the beach and enjoy sensually eating ice cream.

Actually I work in the tech industry, IT admin and fabricator for a home automation company. I assemble, wire, configure and test automation systems before they go out for final install. I also make schematic drawings of some systems and work with the programmers to test equipment.

Company feels like its doubling over though. In the red pretty deep and I want to find something closer to home that feels stable and isnt always asking me to pursue certifications “on my own time.” I commute two hours a day (sometimes more), live 38 miles from the office and theres a strict “no work from home” policy.

Im the youngest and most underpaid person here, so I push back on many things. Working late in NYC on a Friday night and waiting sometimes 45+ mins for the service elevator is just fucked up.

I dont have confidence this place has even 2 more years in it, they way everyone is run into the ground. I applied for a tech support position at one of our biggest vendors, hoping I hear back from them soon.

Oh man, good luck to you then! I’d be bat-shit-crazy if I had to wait for 45min, but then again my concept of time and waiting are fucked as it is...(my morning commute is all of 30 seconds, and fifteen feet.)

Have you tried Canfield? They’re in fairfield NJ, but thats a whole other industry.

(Also, as an accountant, being in the red doesn’t actually mean the company is insolvent.)

Canfield is just a distributor really, not exactly up my alley. I applied to a place in Fairfield though. We’ll see what happens. I’m ideally looking for a job where I can be in the office all day. I don’t mind once in a while running an errand, but I’ve done field work for 10 years, I’m getting tired of it.

Yes, but try being 7 figures in the red and on hold with every vendor.

Expense checks are also a month behind. Insolvent? Maybe not, but certainly unstable.
